The Lower Zakum Habshan Upper Recovery & Lekhwair +20 MBD (HURLK) project is part of ADNOC Offshore’s long-term programme to expand production capacity across the Lower Zakum field. Delivered under an EPC model, the project aims to add an incremental 20,000 barrels per day of oil production by implementing recovery enhancements that interface with both the Habshan and Lekhwair facilities.
This scope forms a key element of ADNOC’s broader capacity-growth strategy for Lower Zakum, which includes a series of interconnected field development and debottlenecking projects. The HURLK package links directly with other major works such as the Lower Zakum LTDP-1 and EPS-2 phases, as well as upgrades to gas handling and associated infrastructure. By integrating with existing facilities at Habshan and Lekhwair, the project is designed to maximise output while optimising resource utilisation.
Awarded to NMDC Energy (formerly NPCC) with a reported contract value of approximately AED 2.4 billion, the EPC scope involves delivering all engineering, procurement, and construction works required to achieve the targeted production increase. Once complete, the project will help sustain ADNOC Offshore’s position as one of the key contributors to the UAE’s offshore oil output, supporting both domestic energy security and export capacity.
